Fox, one of our brown laying hens, is always in everyone’s business.

When you open the poultry house doors in the morning at Morrissey Egg Farm, it’s common to be greeted by one of the perching hens.

Our new Phase II brown laying hens arrived a few days ago. Phase II hens are female chickens that enter a second cycle of egg production after an initial molting period.

A local poultry farm needed to clear out part of its old flock to open space for new birds. So, we opened our barn doors to these hens.

Miss M., a Broad Breasted White, is enjoying a walk on the frosty pasture in mid-December. Our farm is home to egg-laying turkey hens, in addition to egg-laying chicken hens.
